I specialize in Adolescent Medicine, focusing on the unique physical, emotional, and social health needs of adolescents and young adults. My primary area of clinical interest centers on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, including the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraceptive counseling, and menstrual health. I currently see patients at our Teen Health Clinic, which serves a diverse population with a high prevalence of STIs.
With a foundation in sociology and gender studies, I bring a comprehensive, culturally sensitive approach to patient care. I recognize that broader social and environmental factors significantly influence adolescent health, and I strive to meet young people where they are, empowering them with education, support, and medical care that respects their unique lived experiences and cultural backgrounds. I also have a strong interest in applying a public health lens to adolescent care, incorporating preventive strategies and population-level thinking into my clinical practice to better serve communities and address systemic health disparities. Adolescent Medicine allows me to combine my passion for social justice with my clinical skills, and I’m inspired every day by the courage and curiosity of the young people I care for.
In my free time, I focus on being the best mom I can be. My family enjoys hiking, biking, and canoeing, and we cannot wait to start new adventures now that our little one is older.
