As a general outpatient pediatrician in the Division of Primary Care, I want my patients to know if they have a question or concern, we are here to help.
My interest in medicine started with my neighbor when I was growing up. He was a family practice physician who would do house calls to take care of my grandmother, who lived with us. From there, my interest in medicine grew, and I ultimately learned that caring for children was my calling. Watching babies grow into teens and young adults has been a privilege that I cherish.
I’m a practical person in my life and this translates into how I care for my patients. I love interacting with teenagers who may need some guidance from an adult in their life. Recognizing that they may not hear what their parents are telling them, I can be a voice of reason that backs up their parents' advice.
I like helping first-time parents avoid overthinking the care of their children. I encourage parents to enjoy the time they spend with their kids at every age.
When I’m not working, I like spending time with my three teenaged children and my wife, Melissa, who is also a pediatrician in our practice. We enjoy being with our two golden retrievers, Stella and Winston. My activities include swimming, biking, car tinkering and fixing things around the house. A family favorite is vacationing in nature, especially out west in the national parks. I also enjoy relaxing with my feet in the sand.
