Susan Wade Murphy, MSN, RN, NEA-BC

Susan, an Illinois native, practiced as an adult medical staff nurse at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, IL after graduating from the University of Illinois, College of Nursing. Upon relocating to the north shore of Boston in 1983, Susan’s practice shifted to maternal-child services at Beverly Hospital, Beverly, MA and school based pediatric services at Essex Elementary School, Essex, MA. In 1988 Susan joined InterCare Community Health Network, Bangor, MI where she implemented community-based health care programs operated from a network of seven federally qualified community health center sites in southwestern Michigan. Susan served as the director of Community Services and provided programmatic leadership for Perinatal Care Services; Maternal and Infant Support Services; Medicaid, MIChild (CHIP) and Non-Medicaid MICH-Care enrollment; the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program; Lactation Consultant Services; Immunization Services; Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Outreach and Immunization services; and collaborated with twenty primary care providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives supporting these programs.

Susan’s role at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center began in 2000 as clinical director, private duty nursing and member of the Home Care Business Unit. In 2005 Susan became senior clinical director for the Home Health Agency, Liaison Resources, CVC Resources, and StarShine, The Hospice of Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. During 2008, she began her current position as senior clinical director for Home Care Services, adding to her role leadership of the Home Care Pharmacy, Home Medical and Rehabilitation Equipment, and the Home Care Clinical Systems Improvement Site Team. Susan is a graduate of Cincinnati Children’s Intermediate Improvement Science Series.
