I was inspired to be a nurse practitioner by my mom, who was an operating room nurse. Both of my parents worked hard, but my mom's passion for helping others seemed to make the hard work less cumbersome, and she truly enjoyed her career.
My path to pediatrics was confirmed during my nursing clinical rotations when I saw a nurse skillfully start IV nutrition on a toddler while distracting and engaging him with a joyful song. A child’s hospital admission is extremely stressful for their parents, and my goal is to reduce the burden of stress as much as possible.
I practice hospital medicine and inpatient complex care. I like to take the time to provide information and, when it's appropriate, I love to participate in shared decision-making with a patient or patient's family. I am so thankful to work with an amazing group of nurse practitioners and physicians in our Hospital Medicine group.
In my free time, my goal is to visit all of the national parks. My favorite (so far) is Bryce Canyon!
