Lauren E. Zylka, DNP, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC, CPN

I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, and I’ve been part of the Cincinnati Children’s team since 2018. My journey here began as an inpatient adolescent charge nurse, and today I serve as a provider in our residential program, caring for children and adolescents ages 7 to 17. I was drawn to child and adolescent psychiatry early on, after witnessing the profound effects mental illness can have on young people. That experience inspired me to dedicate my career to supporting children and teens as they navigate their mental health challenges.

My practice centers on trauma-informed care, and I always strive to keep patients and families at the heart of every decision. I believe in advocating for my patients and making sure their voices are heard throughout their time in residential care. Collaboration is key; I work closely with attending physicians, social workers, counselors, nurses and other members of our residential team to ensure each child receives the best possible support.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, and spending time with my family and friends.
