Ellingwood Elected Chairman of the 2009 Board of Directors Of Greater Cincinnati Health Council

Dee Ellingwood, Senior Vice President, Planning and Business Development, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, has been named chairman of the 2009 board of directors of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council.

Ellingwood joined Cincinnati Children’s in 1997. His primary role is the management of the strategic planning and business development activities of the medical center. He is also accountable for the government relations, community relations, and child advocacy activities of Cincinnati Children’s and is in a leadership role for the development and evolution of the institution’s international and domestic affiliations with other hospitals and health systems.

Mr. Ellingwood is responsible for the thirteen off-site specialty care outpatient centers and one primary care center in the Greater Cincinnati region, home care services operations and the drug and poison information center. Additionally, he is responsible for medical staff services and oversees institutional relationships with community physicians. In this capacity, he serves on the board of the Tristate Physician Hospital Organization and serves as president of Child Health Administrative Services (CHAS), a medical services organization for community practices, specializing in practice management support.

The Greater Cincinnati Health Council works with hospitals and other health providers in the Greater Cincinnati area to promote high quality, high value health care and to affect overall positive change in the health of the community. The Council is a recognized resource for information about area hospitals and the complex issues facing the health care industry.
