Cincinnati Children’s Appoints Chief Financial Officer

Monday, January 28, 2013

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center has appointed Mark Mumford to the position of chief financial officer (CFO). Mumford will begin his new position on February 4th and will report to Michael Fisher, president and CEO.

“We chose Mark after an extensive national search,” said Michael Fisher. “Mark is an experienced, successful financial leader who combines the professional skills and personal qualities we were looking for in this strategically critical role.”

Mumford replaces Scott Hamlin as CFO. Hamlin served in that role from 1997 to 2012 and was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) last year. Hamlin continues to serve as COO.

A native of Arizona, Mumford comes to Cincinnati Children’s from Phoenix, where he was chief financial officer of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Inc., a national chain that operates over 375 restaurants in 39 states. Previously, he held finance leadership positions with Petsmart and Microage.

“We’re very pleased to have Mark join Cincinnati Children’s,” said Felicia Williams, a member of the board of trustees. “We will benefit from his counsel and experience as he leads our financial operations.”

“As the father of four, I welcome the opportunity to work for an organization that is devoted to improving child health,” said Mumford. “I look forward to meeting the Cincinnati Children’s community, learning about my new home town, and growing professionally as I transition to the healthcare industry.”
