Cincinnati Children’s will again partner with First Ladies for Health for this year’s Family Health Day, which will be held at six locations this Sunday, Oct. 12.
Health screenings and flu shots will be available at no cost for adults and children of all ages. In addition, the event will feature health education and resources, raffle prizes, gift cards and food – plus games and activities geared toward kids and teens.
All members of the public are welcome to attend the family friendly event, which will be held rain or shine. Dozens of organizations are collaborating with Cincinnati Children’s and First Ladies for Health on Family Health Day, an annual event that began in 2014.
First Ladies for Health, a faith-based organization of pastors’ wives, empowers parishioners and community members to make informed decisions about their own health.
“Family Health Day connects people in our community with important screenings, education and resources so that they can live healthy lives,” said Jarvis T. Booth, First Lady of Liberty Pointe Church in Sycamore Township and a spokesperson for First Ladies for Health.
In partnership with Kroger, Cincinnati Children’s will offer flu shots at no charge for anyone 6 months or older. In addition, vision, dental and mammography screenings are available at some sites. Health education and fun activities are available for all.
“We look forward to Family Health Day every year,” said Ebony Washington, manager of Community Relations at Cincinnati Children’s. “We enjoy meeting children and families in the community and sharing activities and information so that everyone can experience good health.”
