Cincinnati Children’s has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals. Of the 250 companies nationwide that Forbes recognized on the inaugural listing, Cincinnati Children’s ranked Number 5 overall – in the top 2%.
Cincinnati Children’s placed Number 1 in Ohio. With over 19,600 employees and 1.7 million patient encounters annually, Cincinnati Children’s is the largest employer and health system in Southwest Ohio.

Davis noted that one of the strengths of Cincinnati Children’s is its high retention rate for employees, which is nearly 90% overall. The turnover rate for nurses is 9.3% and just 3.8% for physicians.

To determine the list of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals for 2025, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 17,000 workers at U.S. companies with at least 1,000 people. Participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a things such as wages, working conditions and schedules, career advancement opportunities and safety. Survey respondents also were asked how likely they were to recommend a previous employer (within the last two years) and other healthcare organizations they knew through industry experience or through friends and family who had worked there.
