Explore Specialized Education and Clinical Resources
New offerings continue to expand the knowledge available to pediatric cardiologists. The Pediatric Cardiology Exercise Medicine Core Curriculum is a novel, national instructional series endorsed by the Society of Pediatric Cardiology Training Program Directors (SPCTPD), which provides foundational education in pediatric exercise medicine, supplemented by a live journal club series. The curriculum efficacy is also being evaluated through an educational research study.
Heart University also offers interactive learning through collaborations with the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society and American Academy of Pediatrics, including ECG of the Month, Fellow Board Review Question of the Month, and Big Dreams for Tiny Hearts -a unique interdisciplinary educational initiative between neonatology and cardiology.
Beyond structured courses, physicians can explore educational resources addressing clinical topics such as acute care cardiology, single ventricle care, adult congenital cardiology, and rheumatic heart disease with contributions from national and international organizations including the Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology Collaborative (PAC3), the National Pediatric Cardiology Qualitative Improvement Collaborative (NPC-QIC), and International Society for Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ISACHD) among others. Additional resources include recordings from the 2025 International Pediatric Cardio-Oncology Virtual Summit and a webinar series on heritable cardiomyopathies and channelopathies created in conjunction with the Foundation for Inherited Arrhythmias (FIA), previously the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes (SADS) Foundation.
Learn From Colleagues Around the World
Cincinnati Children’s also helps connect clinicians across healthcare environments through Cardiology Across Continents, an interactive, case-based series examining how resources and practice settings influence clinical decision-making.
The collaboration has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications since 2023, sharing insights from these discussions with the broader congenital cardiology community, and demonstrating the growing scholarly impact of Heart University.
