The ORCRA Education Program provides the following regularly scheduled educational offerings:

  • Research orientation
  • Good clinical practices
  • Informed consent training
  • Monthly topics to the research community
  • Webinars on hot topics

Additional Resources Available Via ORCRA’s Research Education Program

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) is a high-quality program that is used to establish a level of general knowledge about clinical research and corresponding regulations. CITI is used by more than 1,400 institutions, including the majority of AAHRPP-accredited institutions. Cincinnati Children’s subscribes to CITI programs for some of our baseline training as well as for components of our Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training. Completion of an initial human subject research protection curriculum is required for all research personnel who conduct human subjects research at Cincinnati Children's, regardless of their role and function. This, as well as many other training programs, can be accessed via the Greater Cincinnati Academic and Regional Health Centers (GCARHC) affiliation via the CITI program website. The GCARHC is a regional collaborative to establish common baseline research training curriculums.

ORCRA also hosts a variety of conferences and special events, including:

  • Human Subjects Protection Conference (annual) – offered in conjunction with Schulman Associates IRB, University of Kentucky and University of Cincinnati
  • PRIM&R  “At Your Doorstep” Programs
  • Grand Rounds Speakers

ORCRA supports and participates in other research-related events offered through other divisions and departments within Cincinnati Children’s including:

  • Office of Clinical and Translational Research’s Translational Research Symposium (annual) − open to all professional researchers and staff
  • Center for Clinical & Translational Science and Training − speakers, hot topics, panel discussions.
