As a hospitalist, I specialize in pediatric hospital medicine — caring for children while they are admitted to the hospital. I look at my patients' health holistically and meet them and their families where they are. I enjoy working with a patient population that often cannot advocate for themselves. I find assisting them during times of stress to be very gratifying. It’s amazing to see the resilience and positivity of children.
My academic interests include competency-based medical education and its application in a complex healthcare system. I am particularly interested in how we assess competence to advance to the next level in the path toward independent practice for residents and fellows.
When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking.
