I am Peter Adebi, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Cincinnati Children’s, a nonprofit, comprehensive pediatric health system. As the leader in improving child health, Cincinnati Children's pushes the boundaries of what's possible in research, clinical care, education and innovation, so that every child can live their best possible life. The organization is consistently named one of the top 3 pediatric hospitals in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, and is the #3 recipient of pediatric research grants from the National Institutes of Health.
I lead human resources and play a critical role in enterprise strategy and risk management, change leadership, and enterprise business leadership.
I have more than 20 years of human resources experience in the technology, financial services, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Cincinnati Children's, I was the executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE. At Nemours, I co-led the transformation of the workforce that enabled the organization to increase revenue from $500 million to $2 billion, expand from 30 locations to more than 100 locations, and grow from about 4,000 employees to more than 9,000 employees, including the recruitment of many executive positions.
I am certified as a Senior Professional, Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resources Management, and I am a Certified Physician Development Coach. In 2023, I was named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year by the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Awards. I have also contributed to numerous articles in professional human resources publications.
I received my bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Lagos and a master's degree in human resource management from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. I am a graduate of the Yale Global Executive Leadership Program.
