Evelyn Bruggeman, PT, DPT, MS

I am a pediatric physical therapist specializing in post-operative care for knee injuries, over-use injuries in endurance athletes, and pediatric disorders such as apophysitis. I believe in a well-rounded approach that’s tailored to each patient, with a strong emphasis on patient education and preventive care. My goal is for every child and family to feel confident in their recovery and empowered to reduce the risk of future injuries.

What inspired me to become a physical therapist was the opportunity to see patients through their entire plan of care. I discovered my passion for working with children during my time as a camp counselor and strength coach, and those experiences taught me how to build relationships of trust and help young people achieve their goals. I strive to be a role model for my patients, especially those who are athletes, and I want them to know that I’m here to support them every step of the way.

My research interests include post-op ACL rehabilitation and understanding how different exercises and tempos can improve quad strength at various speeds. I’m always looking for ways to advance care and help my patients return to the activities they love.

Outside of work, I’m a very active person; I enjoy running, lifting, and playing recreational sports like soccer and basketball. I played soccer at the collegiate level, which helps me connect with younger athletes and their families. One fun fact about me is that I have a twin sister!
