I specialize in general pediatrics with a particular focus on children with special healthcare needs and those from diverse backgrounds, including refugee and immigrant children. My extensive experience includes diagnosing and managing common mental health conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and challenges related to autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, I am passionate about sexual and reproductive health, addressing various common complaints for adolescent teens, from period problems to contraception.
I became a pediatrician because of my desire to help the most vulnerable in our society - children. I believe that with the right nurturing treatment, children have immense potential for excellent outcomes. My background as a therapist before attending medical school has given me a unique perspective on the importance of mental and socioeconomic health in achieving overall wellness. I tend to ask more questions than give answers when getting to know my patients, as I believe that a great relationship and deep understanding of each patient lead to the best-tailored care and long-term outcomes.
In addition to caring for patients, I am also committed to teaching the next generation of physicians, showing students and residents how to put humanism into daily practice.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking and playing board games with family and friends. I love to cook and try new restaurants, especially anything spicy and sweet. My favorite daily activities include snuggling with my pet corgi, listening to music, dancing and goofing off with my three kids. Staying grounded with daily meditation or yoga is my secret to success.
