About

Biography

As a pediatric psychologist, I specialize in working with patients (children, adolescents and young adults) who are diagnosed with acute and chronic medical conditions, such as cardiac conditions. I also have experience working directly with families and caregivers of youth with medical conditions to support their mental health and coping. I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents and feel honored to be part of the team caring for patients and families during this challenging time.

In my work with patients in the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s, I strive to provide evidence-based interventions to help navigate the unique challenges of managing a complex medical condition, such as frequent medical appointments, medication taking, adjustment to diagnosis, anxiety related to medical procedures, and impact on daily activities and friendships. I take a collaborative approach to patient care, treating the patient and their family as partners and working together to support them in meeting their goals.

In addition to helping patients, I have the opportunity to collaborate with my psychology and medical colleagues on research. I have participated in projects that aim to improve adherence to challenging medication regimens and support the early identification of psychosocial needs to aid in prevention and intervention efforts.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading fiction and fantasy novels and hiking with my dog.
