I work in the emergency department, caring for children with common illnesses and injuries and for those who are critically ill. My care philosophy revolves around open communication. Being in the emergency department is a challenging environment for every family. My goal is to quickly build relationships with my patients and to help them and their families thoroughly understand their condition or diagnosis.
From my early days as a lifeguard and swim instructor, I have always loved working with and teaching children. This experience made my choice to specialize in pediatrics easy.
My research focuses on pre-hospital care. I completed a year-long Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fellowship to better understand the prehospital environment and the community of prehospital providers. I want to improve pre-hospital care and communication to optimize patient care.
In my free time, I love traveling and being outdoors—camping, swimming, scuba diving, skiing and hiking.
