My clinical specialty is physical therapy, and I concentrate on treating children with rheumatologic conditions such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM), lupus, scleroderma and connective tissue disorders, such as hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and hypermobile type (hEDS).
Growing up in Cincinnati, I aspired to work at Cincinnati Children’s because of its fantastic reputation for providing excellent care to children. I also participate in research by helping primary researchers develop their study proposals, collaborate to identify participants and assist with performing specific musculoskeletal tests.
My care approach to physical therapy is holistic and empathetic. I provide comprehensive care guided by a realistic and attainable plan of care. I want the patients and families I work with to feel comfortable and leave our visits with a better understanding of how to self-manage their conditions.
I love to educate patients, families and other practitioners. I have presented on various topics related to my specialty at national conferences, Cincinnati Children’s Family Health Days and for residents, rheumatology fellows and primary care provider training days.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and five kids. I also love taking my dog for a walk every morning.
