Katherine Epstein, MD

I specialize in pediatric radiology, using radiography/fluoroscopy, ultrasound (US), computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to diagnose illnesses, injuries and diseases. My focus is pediatric gastrointestinal (GI) and genitourinary (GU) imaging in infants, children and adolescents.

I was exposed to pediatric radiology early in my residency. I enjoyed the diversity of conditions that a pediatric radiologist diagnoses daily and the amount of expertise required in this field. The positive impact I can have as a physician caring for children and families inspired me to specialize in pediatric radiology. I also enjoy working as a team with other medical professionals in the radiology department and throughout the hospital to best care for our patients and families. It is extremely rewarding working with children and being able to have a positive impact on their lives.

As a mother of three young boys, I approach each case with compassion and care as I would with my own children or family members. I’ve also spent time within the medical system as a patient and know how scary and foreign the hospital and medical system can feel. I hope to provide some form of comfort for both patients and their families while providing the best medical care.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and kids and doing hot yoga.
