As a nurse practitioner, I treat patients with sickle cell disease and benign hematology disorders. I value a positive working relationship with my patients and their families. It’s important for people to feel empowered and knowledgeable about their health, so I advocate for my patients and help them advocate for themselves.

Working as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the division of hematology since 2017 has allowed me to build relationships with my patients and their families. Even though it is complex and challenging, I enjoy caring for patients with sickle cell disease because their care has to be comprehensive and personal. Getting to know families and watching children and young adults make progress towards their goals is rewarding. My prior position was an as inpatient nurse in hematology/oncology.

I was honored to receive the Carol McKenzie Award for Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing (2020).

When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking and spending time with family and my greyhound.
