I'm a nurse practitioner specializing in hemangiomas and vascular malformations. My approach to care is based on listening first. Families often feel like they are not seen or heard. I want them to know that I listen to them and appreciate their opinions and feelings about their child and condition. I also like the child to be involved, not talking about them, but with them.

My goal was always to be a pediatric provider. I love working with children and educating families on how to best care for their children. Children are resilient and courageous; they are a source of inspiration for me in my life.

I provide care based on scientific research and evidence-based care. I want to work with the family and the child to develop a plan of care with them, not just tell them what I want them to do. It is their body, so I include them to the highest degree based on their age and abilities. To me, healthcare is a collaboration between myself and the family.

As part of the research team, I’m looking into the safety and efficacy of medications to treat vascular malformations. I see patients for intermittent research visits with or without an attending physician.

In my free time, I usually do something with my family, such as attending a sporting event for my children or spending some quiet time at home. I have a German shorthaired pointer that keeps us busy along with our three kids.
