About

Biography

I am a pediatric psychologist who supports families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through trauma, postpartum depression and anxiety and the overall difficult experience of having an infant in the NICU. My approach to care is collaborative, working with families and the multidisciplinary care team. In my work, I am mindful of cultural factors and highlight strengths and each family’s story. I aim to help improve overall functioning and advocate for patients and families.

My interest in this work stems from my desire to help others. I enjoy providing therapy and have always enjoyed working with children because children really are our future. Working in infant mental health allows me to work with the family and intervene at the earliest and most critical time of development.

Families are the experts of their experiences, and I help them explore and process their feelings and current circumstances while providing tools for support. I also place a strong emphasis on working with marginalized communities. I am honored to have been a Leadership Education to Advance Diversity (LEAD) fellow (2023), in which I learned more about cultural sensitivity in practice. As a researcher, I aim to promote a better understanding of the needs of the populations I work with to support them using a strengths-based approach.

When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling with my partner, snuggling with my pets, planning events, trying new recipes, watching sports and being in nature.
