I’m a resident in the Child Neurology/Pediatrics Combined Residency Program. Child neurology is a field that requires a balance of research, evidence-based medicine and compassion for your patients. I recognize the power of holistic care, which addresses behavioral or spiritual health, social service needs and physical health. It is a privilege to work at an institution that deeply values and puts these principles into action.

My interest in pediatric neurology stems from the opportunity to care for patients with a broad spectrum of pathologies, such as epilepsy, movement disorders, immunology, headaches and more. We walk alongside families in their most vulnerable moments in the acute setting while also creating lifetime relationships in the outpatient chronic care setting. At this intersection, I have had the most profound relationships with patients and their families at Cincinnati Children’s and have been shown that same example by my attending physicians.

Before training at Cincinnati Children’s, I received an MD and PhD at Loma Linda University, where I was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. I completed my PhD thesis on the neuroprotective effect of the glucocorticoid receptor in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in the neonatal rat under Dr. Lubo Zhang. With this work, I received the Thomas McDonald Award, a prestigious annual award given to the top abstract in neuroendocrine research at the International Society of Reproductive Investigations (SRI) Scientific Meeting in Paris, France (2019).

Outside the hospital, most of my time is spent with my family and friends. Our favorite outside locations include Ault Park, Sharon Woods and Riverfront Park in downtown Cincinnati. Sometimes, I also indulge in recharging in the sun while reading a good book.
