As a pediatric nurse practitioner, I enjoy working with children because of their exuberance, positivity and zeal for life. I specialize in treating children with lower urinary tract dysfunction.
I believe working with children means working with families and coming to care decisions as a team. Even when the diagnosis is the same across patients, I know we must tailor treatments to individual needs and family preferences.
I place a strong emphasis on the needs of my patients and families. I listen carefully to the details that contribute to each child’s unique situation and I appreciate the nuances of each family.
Caring for children with urology conditions requires a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. I work alongside other doctors and specialists to make the best treatment recommendations for my patients. I feel a strong connection to the holistic care approach which is a hallmark of care nurse practitioners provide. My mentor, Dr. Elizabeth Jackson, continues to inspire me to strive for excellence in my work.
My research focuses on improving the well-being and professional development of advanced practice providers.
When I’m not at work, I like to be outside in nature, read non-fiction, take on new cooking projects and listen to podcasts.
