About

Biography

I am a board-certified clinical microbiologist specializing in the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases. At Cincinnati Children’s, I direct the microbiology laboratory to ensure we deliver high-quality, impactful results for every patient. I also provide clinical microbiology consultative services to our clinical teams, working closely with physicians and staff to help guide care decisions based on the most accurate and timely laboratory findings.

My journey into clinical microbiology began during my graduate training, when I realized the everyday impact I could have on patients’ lives through this role. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the work we do in the lab directly supports the care and recovery of children and their families.

My research focuses on evaluating novel microbiology and molecular technologies for diagnosing infectious diseases. These exciting advancements often allow us to provide results faster and more accurately than ever before, which can make a real difference in treatment. I’m passionate about understanding how these technologies affect disease management and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to study their impact.

Outside of work, I love playing ice hockey and curling—yes, just like in the Olympics! I enjoy the strategy and teamwork involved in both sports, and I have fun traveling to different cities to participate in tournaments.
