I’m a pediatrician practicing at the Kenwood Crossing Primary Care outpatient clinic. I like our practice because it is a close-knit group. When a patient calls, they can immediately reach a person. The nurses and doctors are very accessible. I like that we can spend time addressing families' questions and not feel rushed or overbooked.
Growing up, I had some health issues, and the pediatricians who cared for me were very inspiring. This experience was the initial spark for choosing pediatrics. In medical school, I always gravitated toward children's health. I find it to be very diverse. We see kids from newborn to age 21, so there is never a dull moment. Pediatric care also focuses on preventative care and keeping our patients healthy. We see many patients for routine well visits and try to catch illnesses early.
I collaboratively work with families. I like the shared medical decision model and helping families make the right decisions for their unique situation. I also try to minimize the use of medications such as antibiotics unless they are necessary.
When not at work, I enjoy live music, concerts and movies. Spending time with my husband and our two boys is a priority. We love the outdoors and going to parks and zoos.
