I began my career as a bedside nurse at Cincinnati Children’s in 2005. I was on a general medical unit where I took care of many patients with a variety of medical diagnoses. After several years, I decided I wanted to advance my career. I enjoyed the patients I cared for as a nurse and knew I wanted to continue working for the same population. Joining the Division of Hospital Medicine allowed me that opportunity.
As a nurse practitioner, I care only for inpatients, and I split my time between the main Cincinnati Children’s campus and the Liberty campus. At the main campus, I am a part of the yellow team that specializes in caring for children with complex medical needs and who are followed by multiple specialists. At the Liberty campus, I provide general medical care for patients with acute illnesses.
As a nurse practitioner with a background as a bedside nurse, I have a unique connection with the patients and their families. When making care plans for patients, I appreciate and understand all that is required for a specific task.
Outside the hospital, I am a huge Reds fan and enjoy watching them on TV and attending games, not only in Cincinnati but at other ballparks when the team travels.
