About

Biography

My clinical specialty is pediatric neurology, and I specialize in neuroimmunology and general neurology. Every patient is different—two people can have the same disease with entirely different experiences. My clinical approach is to partner with families to use my experience and scientific evidence to find the best treatment plan for them. I work with a wonderful multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, nurse practitioners, clinic managers, therapists and physicians from other specialties, to provide well-rounded and complete care for our patients with complex needs.

I wanted to work in pediatrics because children's creativity and perseverance constantly inspire me. I was drawn to neuroimmunology by the desire to develop long-term relationships between patients and providers, the complexity of the disease and the exciting new advancements that have developed in the field that lead to new treatment options and more hope for our patients.

As a researcher, I’m interested in demyelinating diseases and their long-term effects on patients as they start newer therapies. In particular, I’m interested in the cognitive effects of neuroimmunological diseases and how our treatments may affect outcomes. I’m proud to have been a National Multiple Sclerosis Society Clinical Care Fellow, which helped support my training and allowed me to focus on the complexities of neuroimmunologic care. I’m also passionate about medical education and helping train the next generation of physicians to continue to provide compassionate and competent care.

When I’m not at work, I like to knit, play golf and spend time with family.
