Meredith N. Nelson, PhD

As a pediatric psychologist, I work with children and adolescents to assess and diagnose developmental disabilities, primarily autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I provide individualized assessments and recommendations, tailored to the needs of each child and their family.

As a diagnostician, I am often one of the first providers that a family works with. My goal, and what inspires me to do this work, is to provide hope for families as well as tools for them to move forward. My evaluations are based on research-supported assessment strategies, and my treatment recommendations emphasize evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families.

In addition to helping patients, I do research. I work collaboratively with research teams that investigate various areas related to ASD and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. I have been involved in writing about research-based interventions for ASD, and I have co-authored empirically based, psychoeducational workbooks for children with emotional and behavioral challenges.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time cooking and being outdoors with my family.
