About

Biography

I was initially drawn to pediatric cardiology by the physiological puzzles that are presented by each patient with complex congenital heart disease. I am inspired by the transformation of the field of pediatric cardiology over the years in terms of the vast array of procedures we can use to repair these defects and improve the lives of our patients. Many of these diagnoses used to be life-limiting and now are manageable conditions with an ever-lengthening lifespan.

As a pediatric cardiology fellow, I get to take care of patients with congenital heart disease in all phases of their care. My patient care philosophy is centered around building close, long lasting relationships with patients and their families. From the early days of their care through their surgeries and all the clinic visits thereafter, being able to participate in the care of children and watch them grow is a great privilege.

As a researcher, I'm interested in a variety of subjects including understanding the outcomes of various catheterization-based procedures, as well as the impacts of educational and exercise interventions.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading and spending time with my wife and daughter outside in our beautiful city parks.
