I’m a pediatric ear, nose and throat (ENT) physician specializing in all areas of pediatric otolaryngology, including head and neck, sinus, otologic and airway disorders. I am interested in the surgical management of thyroid / parathyroid disorders, congenital neck masses and intracapsular tonsillectomy. With two young children of my own, I form a unique connection with all my patients and treat them as I would want my children to be treated.
I was drawn to the field of otolaryngology as a medical student because of the intricate anatomy of the head and neck and the variety of patients we treat. We treat life-threatening issues, conditions affecting a patient's quality of life, and everything in between. I was drawn to pediatrics because of the wide breadth of the field and the unique issues that children have. Improving a child's life as an otolaryngologist is incredibly satisfying and rewarding.
There is nothing more important or precious than the health of a child. It’s a great honor and privilege to care for children. Clear, open-ended communication is essential, and I encourage families to ask questions and be involved in their child's medical care so they can have a positive experience as an advocate for their child.
Much of my research involves intracapsular tonsillectomy, a surgical technique that decreases the risk of post-operative bleeding and improves pain control. I have studied the short- and long-term outcomes of this method and plan to continue researching this technique to make it the standard of care for pediatric tonsillectomy in the future.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Matt, my two children, Greyson and Parker, and our mini labradoodle, Captain Crunch. I love traveling, reading, trying new restaurants and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H-I-O!)
