Ever since high school, I’ve wanted to help children and their families through difficult times. I had a natural interest in diseases, so I decided to combine my two interests by becoming a nurse practitioner.
I received my doctor of nursing practice (DPN) degree with a focus on new-onset pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as my capstone project. Working in gastroenterology has been a way for me to take care of children of all different age groups, which I love.
Diseases that bring children to the hospital usually involve the whole body — and the whole family. I take a holistic approach to caring for patients. I am here for them and their families, and I actively involve their entire treatment team to achieve the best outcome and experience possible.
When I’m not helping patients and families, I love spending time with my children. I can't wait until they get old enough to start going on long bike rides with me!
