Courtney M. Sumner, MD

As a pediatrician, I love developing personal relationships with children and their families — I want to get to know you! I also strive to care for all aspects of a child's health, including physical, mental and social well-being. My goal is to advocate for children in order for them to receive the care they need.

I was inspired to pursue my career by my own pediatrician, who cared for me from birth until I started college. I was drawn to pediatrics so that I could also care for patients from the newborn period all the way until adolescence. It is very rewarding to watch children grow and to be a part of making positive impacts on their health.

I work at Anderson Primary Care, where we are very lucky to be integrated with important services such as psychology, social work, legal aid, dietitians and others. We all work together in one place to advocate for patients and their families.

In my free time, I love being outdoors! I’m also an aspiring calligrapher, I enjoy experimenting with new recipes, and I never pass up an opportunity to dance!
