I'm an occupational therapist (OT) providing specialized treatment for children with cerebral palsy in various areas of the Perlman Center at Cincinnati Children's. The Perlman Center is a unique department that serves various patient populations, throughout all stages of life. My areas of focus include early intervention, assistive technology, complex rehab equipment, constraint-induced movement therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication.
I always knew I wanted to work in the medical field. When I discovered occupational therapy, it was a perfect fit for me. I moved to Cincinnati in 2008 from Reading, Pennsylvania, to begin my education for OT. I completed my bachelor's and master's of OT at Xavier University. I fell in love with Cincinnati, so I began my career working with adults for three years before transitioning to pediatrics in 2017. Cincinnati Children's has been an amazing place for my professional and personal growth. Kids are inspiring, and I'm lucky to be a part of their journey.
My unique approach to patient care includes being empathetic, passionate and playful. I enjoy being creative with my treatment approaches in therapy. I want to inspire families to feel confident in working with their children. I like to tell families that a child's primary occupation is play, so occupational therapy in pediatrics should be fun and playful!
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children and dogs. I like exercising, baking, cooking and playing card games in my free time. Although I have lived in Cincinnati for over 10 years now, I also like exploring new places around the city.
