As a neonatologist, I care for critically ill and medically complex newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and support families during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. I'm committed to clear, compassionate communication and family-centered care, empowering parents to be active participants in their baby’s journey.
I was first drawn to neonatology during my third year of medical school when I witnessed the successful resuscitation of a newborn who was critically ill at birth. That experience showed me the profound impact of neonatal medicine and inspired me to pursue a field where even the smallest interventions can change the course of a life.
Within neonatology, I have a particular clinical and research interest in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). During fellowship, I conducted clinical research evaluating the use of systemic steroids in infants with established lung disease and how different dosing strategies impact respiratory outcomes. I am excited to continue this work as part of the BPD team in my faculty role, with the goal of optimizing treatment approaches and improving long-term outcomes for this vulnerable population.
In medical school, I was honored to be elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of my academic performance, leadership, and commitment to compassionate care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside with my family, playing soccer and rock climbing.
