As a pediatric optometrist, I provide comprehensive and problem-focused eye exams for kids of all ages. My goal is to determine the right prescription for glasses and diagnose and treat a range of eye conditions, including amblyopia, strabismus, ocular complications from medical conditions, and other medical eye problems. Childhood is such a crucial time for vision development, and kids with vision problems often don’t realize the way they see the world is abnormal. This makes early eye exams important, so that vision issues can be diagnosed and treated while the brain is developing, setting kids up for a lifetime of their best possible vision.
I discovered optometry in middle school after taking a career interest survey, and the more I learned about it, the more I knew it was what I was supposed to do. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, and while serving in my college church’s children’s ministry and applying to optometry school, I realized I could combine both by going into pediatric optometry. I am excited to be a part of the Cincinnati Children’s Ophthalmology team and to help children see the world as clearly as possible.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, crocheting, dancing and hanging out with my dog.
