About

Biography

As an occupational therapist (OT), I specialize in evaluating and treating children with developmental disabilities, particularly those with sensory processing challenges. I have a Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration through Collaboration and Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration (CLASI) and certifications through the STAR Institute and Temple University. I have a Doctor of Health Sciences, a master’s in occupational therapy, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

I’m part of our sensory team in the Division of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, where we develop guidelines and training for managing care for children with sensory processing and integration challenges. I serve as a clinical instructor for graduate students and enjoy mentoring the next generation in my profession. Another passion of mine is using hippotherapy (OT with the help of a horse) as a treatment strategy for children and adults. I have been trained through the American Hippotherapy Association (Level I and II). I lead one of the only sites in the tri-state area that provides this evidence and community-based treatment strategy. I love my job!

I believe in a strengths-based approach to care while building skills within trusting relationships. Everyone has beautiful strengths and gold inside them, and it is my pleasure to draw that forth as I promote children's growth to their full potential. I’m passionate about making therapy fun, playful and tailored to each child. Supporting and coaching caregivers is also very important to me. I want parents to be equipped with the skills and strategies to aid their child in development and advocate for their child’s needs.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Hiking, cycling, horseback riding and Pilates are just a few of my hobbies. I also love to travel and have been to several countries.
