About

Biography

I'm a genetic counselor specializing in general and epilepsy genetics. Genetic testing is complicated. I want to ensure you understand all aspects of testing so you can make an informed decision for your child. I encourage questions and conversation and want you to actively participate in the genetic testing process.

I have worked alongside individuals with disabilities and their families since high school. Through my experiences, I created relationships with these families and learned more about their healthcare journeys. Many families are seeking a diagnosis to explain their child's symptoms. As a genetic counselor, I help families search for a diagnosis. This career combines my passion for science and working with individuals with disabilities.

I encourage families to openly share their stories during appointments. I recognize that your child is more than a list of symptoms, and I want to hear about their strengths, interests and milestones! I actively listen to your concerns so we can develop the best genetic testing approach to determine if there's an underlying genetic etiology for symptoms.

I'm very passionate about the mental health of siblings of individuals with disabilities. I serve on the board of directors of the Ohio Siblings Network, and I'm honored to have opportunities to increase awareness of sibling needs and work to address these needs.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside running, hiking, biking or even slacklining.
