Biography
As a nurse practitioner in the Division of Endocrinology, I care for children with type 1 diabetes and their families in the Diabetes Center. My goal is to provide patient- and family-centered care that helps patients and families reach their goals. I meet patients where they are to find ways that maximize their disease management. I want patients to lead their visit with me as much as possible.
I want to be a provider that helps children and families learn about their condition. I like working with children because they are curious by nature, flexible and fun! Their curiosity helps me stay knowledgeable about type 1 diabetes and current advances and trends in diabetes care.
I’m the school program liaison for the Diabetes Center. In this capacity, I provide diabetes education to many schools in the tri-state area and organize programs for school nurses and personnel at Cincinnati Children's. Recently, I created online diabetes education modules for school nurses and personnel in Kentucky.
I enjoy spending my free time with my family, and I am lucky to have lots of family in Cincinnati. My husband and son have turned me into a major sports fan. I follow The Ohio State University, the Reds and the Bengals.
