I believe that good medicine starts with compassion for people and a mind to serve those in need. My journey into medicine began as an electrical engineer, where I was drawn to the intricacies of radiofrequency transmission systems. That curiosity led me to the world of cochlear implants and, ultimately, to a career in pediatric anesthesiology and pain medicine—where I could combine technical precision with human-centered care.
As a pediatric anesthesiologist and pain specialist, I focus on regional and acute pain medicine innovation, multidisciplinary care, and evidence-based education. My clinical work centers on developing personalized pain plans that incorporate a range of modalities—from oral and parenteral medications to regional anesthesia, psychotherapy, physical therapy, and interventional procedures. I care for perioperative patients as well as those with acute non-surgical and acute-on-chronic pain, including conditions like migraines, sickle cell disease, chronic regional pain syndrome, amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and chronic abdominal pain.
I’ve led the development of protocols and research initiatives for regional anesthesia in sickle cell disease and across a variety of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, craniofacial, and general surgery. My goal is to deliver research-driven, high-quality care that improves perioperative outcomes and centers the patient experience. I strive to demonstrate quality through every interaction—by listening closely, acting with intention, and measuring what matters.
Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition for my work, including the Professional Development Award from Baylor College of Medicine (2024–2025), the Norton Rose Fulbright Award in Teaching and Evaluation (April 2022), and the Best of Meeting Outstanding Research Award from the Society for Pediatric Pain Medicine (March 2022). These acknowledgments reflect my ongoing commitment to advancing pediatric pain care through innovation, collaboration, and compassion.
