About

Biography

I am an occupational therapist (OT) working with all patients, but with a special interest in caring for patients with autism and those with other developmental disabilities as they transition to adulthood. I have always had a passion for helping others learn new skills. My older brother has an intellectual disability. Through him, I was introduced to the therapy world from a young age. When I discovered occupational therapy at a career fair in college, I knew immediately that working with others to maximize independence and function was my life's calling.

I focus on relationship-based care with my patients. I prioritize learning who the child is individually, their interests and strengths, the activities that are hardest for them, and what motivates them during therapy sessions. I aim to ensure that all my activities and care recommendations are customized to the individual family's needs. If something is not feasible for a family to do at home, I will work with them to figure out how to modify the task to make sense for them.

I am very involved in the "behind the scenes" work in the Division of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. I am a member of our clinical practice team on autism. This team is tasked with developing programs and training staff to provide the best care possible for autistic patients. I am also a founding team member of the Transition Services: Thrive Program. This program aims to improve care for adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities through individual and group-based treatment.

When I am not at work, I wrangle my twins and try to keep them busy as they get bigger and more active! I enjoy cooking and crafting and love a good long walk.
