Research Participant Advisory Group

Join the Research Participant Advisory Group

We want to make research better for everyone. That’s why we created the Research Participant Advisory Group—a way for families who take part in research to share ideas and make a difference.

Who Can Join?

Anyone who has been part of a research study at Cincinnati Children’s—and their family members—can join. This includes parents, caregivers, and siblings.

What Does the Group Do?

Our group gives feedback and ideas to researchers. Your voice helps shape how studies are done and can lead to better health outcomes for children.

When you join, you can:

  • Take part in panels or focus groups
  • Help review new research projects
  • Join our Institutional Review Board (IRB)
  • Share ideas on specific research studies
  • Give feedback to improve the overall research process

Some opportunities are one-time, others are ongoing. You can choose what works for you.

Join the Research Participant Advisory Council (RPAC)

Want to get more involved? Family Partners can join our RPAC, which meets online once a month from August through June. Meetings are in the evening on the 4th Thursday of each month.

At These Meetings:

  • Researchers ask for your feedback on their studies
  • You’ll learn how research is done at Cincinnati Children’s
  • You’ll help improve the experience for all research participants

Our Family Partners Are:

  • Excited to help improve research
  • Willing to share helpful feedback
  • Passionate about making research better for families
  • Curious and open to learning
  • Team players who want to work together
