Hematology/Oncology Fellowship

Application and Selection

We welcome highly motivated candidates passionate about advancing pediatric hematology/oncology. Submit your applications through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and we will invite selected candidates to interview with our program. Our selection committee assesses applicants based on their clinical and research experience, academic potential, and dedication to the field. We also will pay for travel and a hotel stay for any fellow candidate we interview who wishes to come for an in-person second look. These second look visits are entirely optional and do not impact our decision making, but we feel strongly that getting to know the CBDI, seeing Cincinnati Children's, and experiencing a bit of Cincinnati will be worthwhile for applicants.

The Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute participates in the national Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Match Program. Applications are usually accepted in July of each year, with our interview season running through March of the following year.

Items to Include with ERAS Application:

  • Current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Goals / personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation, including one from your current residency and/or fellowship director
  • Copy of your grades and transcripts
  • USMLE scores
  • Letter from the dean of your medical college
