Program Overview
This fellowship offers structured, hands-on training in the care of individuals with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Fellows participate in weekly TSC clinic meetings, the weekly multidisciplinary TSC clinic, and the bimonthly TAND (tuberous sclerosis–associated neuropsychiatric disorder) Clinic, gaining consistent exposure to the clinical, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental needs of patients with TSC.
Core Curriculum
Clinical Training
Throughout the year, fellows receive focused training in neurodevelopmental and neurocutaneous disorders through weekly clinical engagement with faculty. Fellows also complete rotation experiences in related specialties, selected to match their interests and long-term career goals. This structure supports residents transitioning into fellowship and early-career physicians seeking deeper specialization.
Research and Scholarly Development
Each fellow designs and carries out an independent research project during their training year, with support from faculty mentors. An optional second research year may be available (pending funding) for those interested in further developing their work. During this year, fellows continue to attend TSC clinic meetings and TSC clinics while dedicating most of their time to research activities.
Preparation for Your Career
The fellowship provides practical clinical experience, structured mentorship, and opportunities for scholarly growth that prepare trainees for careers in academic medicine, complex care, and related subspecialties.
