2017-2018 Academic Year rates:

Tuition, in-state (Ohio):     $1123 per credit hour, $3369 per course

Tuition, out-of-state:     $1138 per credit hour, $3414 per course

Cincinnati Children's fee only (for those with UC Tuition Remission): $399 per credit hour, $1197 per course

Application fees:     $20 domestic certificate, $25 international certificate, $65 domestic master's, $70 international master's

Tuition for the programs is calculated on a per-credit-hour basis. For the Fall 2017 - Summer 2018 academic year, the cost is:

  • $1123 per credit hour in-state (Ohio)
  • $1138 per credit hour out-of-state and international

This cost is subject to increase each year, normally in fall. The total amount includes instruction and other fees from both UC and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

At this current rate, the 12-credit hour Certificate program will cost $13,476 in-state and $13,656 out-of-state, and the 30-credit MEd program will cost $33,690 in-state and $34,140 out-of-state.

For those with UC Tuition Remission: the Cincinnati Children's fee is not covered by Tuition Remission and is $399 per credit hour.

Students are responsible for obtaining any required course books on their own. The cost of books and other course materials varies by course. Students are given complete book information and ample time to order books prior to the start of each course.
Tuition and other costs are billed via emailed invoice by Cincinnati Children’s each term, and payment is to be made to Cincinnati Children’s via check or credit card. Payment is generally due by the first day of class.

Students are encouraged to seek tuition support opportunities through their home institution. US-based students taking six credit hours per quarter may also be eligible to apply for a student loan through the Federal Direct Student Loan program.  For additional information, please contact the University of Cincinnati Financial Aid Office.

The program does not have scholarships, grants, graduate assistantships or other financial aid available. There is no discount for Cincinnati Children’s staff; however, the program is approved for the tuition reimbursement benefit.

Cincinnati Children’s employees may receive tuition reimbursement through EdAssist for a portion of the fees. Cincinnati Children’s fellows are covered by the HR Fellows Tuition fund up to $7500 per year; additional funding may be available through an educational fellowship grant or your division. Please consult with your business director.

Faculty and staff of the University of Cincinnati and their families are eligible to receive tuition remission. Please let the program coordinator know if you will have tuition remission. Depending on employment / faculty status, an application will need to be submitted to UC Human Resources every term (part time) or every academic year (full time). For affiliated faculty at Cincinnati Children’s, the form must be submitted through your division and the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation (Jana Bazzoli’s office). The form must be received by UC HR before the term begins to have the tuition remission applied. Please allow ample time for processing.

Important note: Tuition remission will only cover the in-state UC part of the tuition, not the Children’s Hospital part of the tuition or the out-of-state UC surcharge ($15 per credit hour). Please contact the program coordinator for specifics. You will be responsible for paying the balance due.

If you are in the US military or a veteran and would like to use VA/GI educational benefits, contact the UC Veteran’s Certification Office at 513-556-6811 or PO Box 210121, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0121. The MEd program is certified to receive benefits, but the certificate program is not. Please let the program office know you will be receiving a benefit.

Important: If you will be covered under the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 and/or Yellow Ribbon fund benefits (where the tuition is paid directly to the University), you must let the program office know the percent of coverage you will receive.
