Patient families were among those who gathered today, Oct. 15, to cheer the dedication of Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate, a new medical building that features specialty clinics, outpatient surgery and an urgent care. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in advance of the Nov. 3 opening.
Located at 4315 Ivy Pointe Blvd., next to the headquarters of TQL, the medical building is visible from Interstate 275 south of its intersection with Ohio 32 in Clemont County.
Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate provides improved access to expert specialty medical services for families in Clermont as well as other counties along the Ohio 32 corridor to the east, parts of Northern Kentucky and West Virginia.
“Patient families have told us how thrilled they are that world-class specialty pediatric care is now closer to their homes,” said Evaline Alessandrini, MD, chief operating officer of Cincinnati Children’s. “Their roundtrip travel times for specialty medical care may be reduced by two hours or more, depending on where they live.
“The combination of specialty clinics, outpatient surgery and an urgent care makes this location the first of its kind on the East Side for Cincinnati Children’s, and some of the same surgeons and other medical providers who care for pediatric patients at our main campus in the city will now see patients at this new location,” Dr. Alessandrini said.
“Up to 250 of our team members – including physicians, registered nurses, therapists, mental and behavioral health specialists, medical assistants and support staff – will work at Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate, and they will care for about 600 patients each day at this location,” Dr. Alessandrini said.
Cincinnati Children’s invested $90 million in the Eastgate location, which includes design, construction and equipment as well as the $5 million purchase of the 20-acre site in 2012. The two-story, 111,000 square-foot building occupies 10 acres, with another 5 acres reserved for possible expansion
“We’re making this major investment to improve access to specialty care and outpatient surgery for local families,” Dr. Alessandrini said. “We will continue to work closely with community physicians to ensure the best outcomes possible for kids on the East Side.”
Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate consolidates patient care services from the health system’s Anderson and Eastgate neighborhood locations into the new outpatient care facility in the Ivy Point Commerce Park. Key services include:
