How You or Your Child Can Get Involved with Cincinnati Children's

Here at Cincinnati Children’s, our relationships with patients and their families aren’t limited to the exam room or operating room.

Just as you count on our team for pediatric medical care, we rely on you to stay connected and get involved—even if you or your child no longer needs treatment. Your partnership (and your voice) helps us provide the best care possible to as many families as possible.

For example, you or your child can support Cincinnati Children’s by:

  • Serving on committees that seek feedback about our services. This helps us make improvements that ensure anyone who turns to us for care has a positive experience.
  • Helping raise awareness of our services by sharing your child’s story with families who may need the same type of care and with community members looking to support Cincinnati Children’s.
  • Joining a panel of caregivers and family members invited to speak about specific topics at medical meetings or conferences.

Learn more about specific opportunities below. Then, let us know how you’d like to get involved by filling out and submitting our electronic interest form.

Find Opportunities that Suit Your Interests and Fit Your Schedule

No matter where you live or how busy your family’s schedule, there are ways to get involved with Cincinnati Children’s. You can help with a single, one-time event or serve on a committee that meets monthly. You can volunteer in person or participate in certain activities remotely through videoconferencing technology.

Our partnership opportunities fall into four main categories:

Patient and Family Advisory Councils

Our Patient Advisory Council and Family Advisory Council meet monthly to help our leadership teams make decisions that influence patient care. These groups are open to current and former patients, as well as siblings and family members who want to share their unique perspectives. We've relied on input from these councils to help us improve access to care, enhance patient safety and create a better experience for all patients, families and visitors.

The Champions Program

Our Champions Program is a community of grateful patients and families. Together, members advocate for Cincinnati Children’s by sharing their time—and their stories. For example, you can participate in community events that help raise money for our medical center, or let our marketing team create a video about your family’s experience.

Research Participant Advisory Group

If your child took part in any research at Cincinnati Children’s, you’re eligible to join our Research Participant Advisory Group which aims to strengthen our research program through our monthly Research Participant Advisory Council and a variety of one-time, as-needed opportunities to advise on specific research studies or projects. For instance, member feedback helps us improve access to clinical trials and make sure research participants have a positive experience.

Other One-Time or Ongoing Opportunities

There are many other ways you can help support Cincinnati Children’s. For example, some of our partners take part in staff education sessions so they can share feedback about their experience in that specific unit. Others volunteer during a community event, host their own fundraising events or attend meetings related to patient safety and quality improvement.
