Extended Hours Walk-In Clinic

Cincinnati Children's Primary Care offers current established families with greater access to care through our extended hours walk-in clinic. Located at our Mason Primary Care office, walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 6pm – 9:30pm. No appointments are necessary. The last patient will be accepted at 9:30pm. 

The extended hours walk-in clinic provides established families an alternative to urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries.  A list of what we treat and additional billing information is available below in the FAQs.

Current, established families with Cincinnati Children’s Primary Care are welcome to use the extended hours walk-in clinic in Mason. Records of your visit will be available to your primary care provider at your home location and will also be available in your MyChart account.
We can treat the following during extended hours:
  • Allergic reactions
  • Asthma attacks / wheezing
  • Constipation
  • Dehydration
  • Ear pain, drainage
  • Eye irritation or redness; minor eye swelling or injury
  • Headache
  • Mild fever
  • Minor animal bites, bee stings, tick bites
  • Minor sports injuries
  • Mouth pain
  • Other minor injuries (e.g., twisted ankle, jammed finger)
  • Rashes, itching, other skin concerns
  • Removal of items stuck in ears/noses
  • Scrapes, bumps, cuts, abrasions, splinters
  • Sinus pain / pressure, runny nose, congestion
  • Sore throat
  • Stomach pain
  • Upper respiratory symptoms, colds, cough, flu-like symptoms or COVID concerns
  • Urinary symptoms
  • Vomiting / diarrhea
Sports physicals can be scheduled for patients who have had their well child check within the last six months. If sports physicals are not available at your home practice, please ask about availability at the extended hours clinic in Mason.

Your provider may also schedule follow-up care for certain acute conditions during extended hours.

Extended hours walk-in clinic is not for regular checkups, medication checks or other scheduled care that can wait for a daytime appointment.

Head to the Emergency Department for visibly broken bones, breathing difficulties, uncontrolled bleeding and any other life-threatening condition.

Providers from within Cincinnati Children’s Primary Care will see patients during extended hours. Providers may be nurse practitioners, pediatricians or physician assistants.
Visits to the extended hours walk-in clinic will be billed as an established patient office visit, but an evening surcharge will be applied. The surcharge is covered by most insurance plans but may result in additional out-of-pocket costs for some families. Families should consult with their insurance provider directly to understand their coverage.
