Pediatric Decision Science
Founded in 2024, the Decision Sciences Center aims to be the leader in pediatric decision sciences and to support Cincinnati Children's in delivering family-centered, high-quality decision support to all families seeking care. The aim of the center is to advance the field of pediatric decision sciences through rigorous, innovative research focused on:
- Family engagement in decision making
- Training of healthcare providers
- Implementation of decision interventions
- Measurement of decision outcomes
The Center is a collaborative environment in which researchers focused on decision sciences lead their own work, but also partner with both research and operations colleagues, to ensure our work is rooted in the needs and care of children and adolescents.
Our faculty span clinical and operational divisions to bring multidisciplinary perspectives to decision science questions. Trainees include postdoctoral fellows, such as those from the General Academic Pediatrics T32 fellowship, medical and PhD students, and clinical fellows. Trainees at all levels are an integral part of work within the Center and are mentored in developing their own interests and research questions within decision science.
