Meet the Global Rheumatic Heart Disease Research and Advocacy Center Team

The Global Rheumatic Heart Disease Research and Advocacy Center is led by Dr. Andrea Beaton, a pediatric cardiologist at Cincinnati Children’s. As the Principal Investigator and Director, Dr. Beaton oversees the team’s research portfolio and manages its scientific strategy. She also mentors a team of independent and junior investigators, including cardiology attendings, cardiology fellows, nurse researchers and pediatric residents.

The Center’s research, program and grant operations are executed by an experienced and dedicated team of professionals in research, business operations, project management and finance.

Within Cincinnati Children’s, we collaborate with the Division of Nursing, the Biomedical Informatics Research Team, the Heart and Mind Wellbeing Center, and the Qualitative Methods and Analysis Center.

Our external partners include The RHD Research Collaborative in Uganda, Reach, The World Heart Federation, and The Kids Research Institute Australia.
